White Iris in Pastel

I am having so much fun being back to my painting. I decided to try pastels since I had never worked with them.

I found a canvas board which I had prepared for an oil painting, and thought "I wonder how pastel would look on that."

 Here is a picture of it, what do you think?

Prickly Pear 2 16 X 20

The Prickly Pears outside our door are blooming again and they are such a welcome sight I can't resist painting them. Unfortunately they are so short lived.It's hard to imagine anything so beautiful coming out of that hard soil.
